Alpaca Pals (now incorporated within Tracey Hey Designs) was born in 2010 when, with a young family and a farm full of alpacas, I began creating Aubrey Alpaca and his Pals.

My first stamp set ‘All Things Alpaca’ was launched in 2016 and the business has expanded from there with the introduction of an ever-growing range of character stamps and paper crafting products.

With a studio and packing room overlooking fields full of alpacas, I work to bring new collections to both loyal customers and new followers. I am grateful to have a supportive family and an amazing team; Tara who works with me two mornings a week, Sharon, who showcases our products on HobbyMaker TV and of course my small but mighty Design Team, Dee & Melissa, who work their crafty magic with our designs.

‘Tracey Hey Designs’ have also created a community of like-minded crafters with the ‘Tracey Hey & Pals’ Facebook group where we share artwork and ideas as well as tutorial videos to inspire fellow crafters and demonstrate the versatility of the products. We also encourage our ‘Pals’ to share their creations and learn from a network of fellow crafting enthusiasts.

As the founder of Tracey Hey Designs, I feel incredibly fortunate to have built a business around something I love, and I am thankful every day that what started as a creative hobby has grown into so much more.

 Our range of products has developed from our original stamps and paper pads, to now include an ever-growing collection of die sets, stencils, washi tape, embossing folders and much more besides. Inspiration is never far away, whether it’s for whimsical characters or intricate die sets. I’m rarely seen without my iPad, and I’m incredibly grateful that my passion has become my profession.

 I take great pride in designing stamps and products that are versatile, interchangeable and can be used together in a variety of ways. I love creating collections that work seamlessly with one another, giving crafters the freedom to mix, match, layer and experiment. Seeing how people use my designs in ways I never imagined is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Tracey and I met more than 15 years ago, when, having graduated with a degree in Illustration but being keen to pursue my love of animals, I accepted a role as Tim and Tracey’s Alpaca Herdsperson and fell in love with the world of alpacas. Since then, Tracey and I have shared not only a love of animals but also a passion for art, which helped build a friendship that has lasted ever since.

 My career took me to roles in Marketing and Event Management, when I eventually took some time off to have a family. I had watched Tracey’s business go from strength to strength and was delighted when she asked if I’d be interested in helping her out with some of the administrative elements of the business, as the brand was growing so fast.

 In the past few years, we have formed a close-knit team with Tracey being able to focus more on designing and managing new collections and building the business, while I take care of the website, product photography and some of the administrative tasks that Tracey doesn’t enjoy, but I love!

 No two days are the same, from packing orders and organising stock, to photographing samples and managing the website, with the added bonus of looking out of the studio window over fields full of alpacas! We have a lot of fun discussing Tracey’s new character ideas, sentiments, and brainstorming collections that allow the essence of the brand to shine through. It is so rewarding being part of a customer focused business which strives to create unique products that work together to give our customers the best value for money.

I’ve been crafting in one form or other for over 40 years, but paper crafting became part of my life in 2008. I came across Tracey’s wonderful characters on Hochanda TV and from that moment on I became hooked.

 I love Tracey’s design style, it gives us crafters options to make a simple card with just a character and sentiment or to expand into creating scenes/stories.

 I’ve enjoyed watching how Tracey has grown her brand to now incorporating stencils, embossing folders and dies. The possibilities are now endless as every product works together so well!

I live in the beautiful Blue Mountains in Australia.  I am married and we have 2 boys.  I started Rubber Stamping in the early 90’s but became addicted to Copic Markers in August 2010.

I found and fell in love with Tracey Hey Stamps in 2018 while scrolling through Instagram.  Of course, I couldn’t resist and messaged Tracey straight away to see if she posted to Australia. 

What can I say, the rest is history!! An order was placed straight away. I love that Tracey’s images work for all ages…for any person. They are easy to fussy cut so they can be popped onto any project. The introduction of dies, stencils and rub-ons makes the collection complete and they all work so well together.

I feel so honoured to not only be friends with Tracey, but to get the opportunity to take her amazing products onto Hobbymaker TV every month.  I’ve been working in the craft industry for over 10 years now, and the minute I saw Tracey’s designs I was in love. 

I’ve been using her products since the start, and it’s been inspiring to watch her product range grow and so many fabulous collections spring from her imagination.  We both seem to like the same style of creating and I couldn’t be happier sharing inspiration with the TV audience every month (even though it’s always a race to share my ideas before everything sells out!).
